Suggest Treatment For Hiccups

My husband had surgery on his shoulder three days ago and has been having hiccups ever since. He has a drink to take meds, he may be eating or sitting in the chair...he experience hiccups. We call the doctor who did the surgery and he said hiccups are hiccups not to worry.

Thanks for your question on HCM.
Hiccups are having various etiologies but non is 100% Sure. Some say it is due to dehydration, some say it is due to irritation of the throat, some say it is due to diaphragmatic irritation.
So I advice you following things in hiccup.
1. Drink plenty of fluids.
2. Try to chew fruit candies
3. Beclofen is the only drug available for the serious cases.
4. Avoid large meals and hot and spicy food.
