Suggest Treatment For Herniated Disc And Sciatica

Hi, just wondering I have a herniated disc which I was advised to get back surgery 3 years ago. Now
this is pressing on my Sciatica and causing sever pain and I going to physical therapy for 2 weeks,
which I did three years ago and I woke up one morning and didn't need the surgery, the pain was gone.
Pain is in my back and down my leg. Wondering if I should get an MRI to see what is happening?
Thanks for your help.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have herniated disc and sciatica . Well disk herniation is most often the result of a gradual, aging-related wear and tear called disk degeneration. Twisting and turning while lifting is also one of the major reason for this problem . I would suggest you to consult orthopedic surgeon for proper examination . Doctor may order CT scan ,MRI , myelogram , nerve conduction test along with physical examination . Doctor may prescribe percocet , gabapentin , muscle relaxant along with cortisone injection . Doctor may also recommend physical therapy and surgery in some severe cases.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
