Suggest Treatment For Heart Palpitations With A History Of Anxiety

I have been having heart palpitations for over a week now. I do have a history of suffering from anxiety and panic attacks. I am over weight female with Hypothyroidism (currently on 200mcg synthroid) and PCOS. I have been exercising regularly for the last 4 months (and have lost some weight) but I still have to work more on my nutrition. I have suffered from palpitations in the past but they usually subside after a few days and they have always been sporadic. I don't remember ever having palpitations lasting every day and all day non stop for a week. I'm considering visiting my GP over this issue. I saw my doctor last a few months ago about my palpitations when I started exercising regularly and she performed an EKG and it I remember correctly it came up clear. Palpitations went away and not they are back.

Hello There

After going through your medical query I understand your concern and I would like to tell you that palpitation commonly happens because of dehydration, anemia, anxiety, hormonal imbalances or underlying heart disease, if your ecg came out normal then no need to worry and as they never came back , that indicates towards anxiety only .

Hopefully this information will guide you properly.

Kind Regards
Dr Bhanu Partap
