Suggest Treatment For Heart Palpitations And Stress

Hi, I am 32 years of age and have had heart palpitations for many years. Today they were in a row, I am talking about 10 very hard ones against my chest without any rest in between. I have had a stress check done before and it all came out fine, however my heart rate at rest is a little high. Please let me know what why they happen in a row?

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

I understand your concern and would explain that your symptoms could be related to possible cardiac arrhythmia.

In such a case, I would recommend performing an ambulatory 24-48 Hours ECG monitoring in order to investigate for possible cardiac arrhythmia.

Some blood lab tests (complete blood count for anemia, thyroid hormone levels for thyroid gland dysfunction, blood electrolytes for possible imbalance) are needed too.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
