I bought a generic Loraditine (Claritan), CVS brand for fluid in my eustachian tube. My doctor said that this would help but I saw on the package that it is 1 dose/day for an adult. Is that correct? I have not had any results yet, 2 days, and am unable to hear out of 1 ear. Please let me know if I should take more than 1 or am I being overly anxious?
Hi. Loratidine is taken once a day only and takes time to get an effect particularly in case of fluid in the Eustachian tube. This alone may not help and it is better to have an additional treatment if required of an antibiotic, anti-inflammatory and oral steroids along with Nasal decongestant drops followed by steam inhalations. Do not blow the nose at all.
