Suggest treatment for headache

i had severe rt sided headache x 4 days with nausea. went to Dr had brain scan and blood tests all normal. 1 day later developed scintillating scotoma that has now lasted for 5 days. Eye exam normal. I have no history of migraines and rarely get any kind of headache. My research shows scintillating scotoma as an aura preceeding a headache. My presentation is the opposite. days of severe headache and now the visual disturbances. Is that normal and how long can this last. it is very disturbing.

Welcome to HealthcareMagic

I went through the history you have provided and it seems like you and having headache with visual disturbances. This indicates primary headache like migraine.
Since it is present for long time it requires use of prophylactic drugs like flunarizine. Do consult your doctor for prescription of drugs after confirmation of diagnosis by examination and appropriate tests.

Do write back to me for further questions.

Hope this is helpful yo you.

Thank you

Ok, for the last 3 days, I have had this headache (sometimes more in front/forehead) that feels like my head is going to explode and/or throbbing but no fever. I felt a little bit stuffed up on the first day and I have a little bit of a runny nose, but not any more than usual (I have a runny nose almost everyday). Over the counter cold meds seem to only help if I double up on the dosage. I cannot afford to go to the doctor or take any more time off work.

I was diagnosed with GERD several years ago. I recently had an upper endoscopy done in which I was told The lining of my stomach is inflamed. I currently take omeprazol once a day at 40 mg. it has also been mentioned I may have IBS. I get bloated nightly and have a lot of belching. Occasionally I have gas, which somewhat helps the bloating. I have bowel movements every few days, but I don t always feel like I am emptying my bowels. I also frequently get lightheaded and have headaches. Could these be related?

I m a 51 year old made. I am a notoriously poor sleeper; 4 or 5 hours a night. Recently, I ve developed headaches that feel very much like numbness...pins and needles sensations in the middle of my head. I usually take an extra strength Exederin and feel better but I notice they appear to be more frequent lately.
