Suggest Treatment For Headache Post An ACL Reconstruction Surgery

Hi my name is Dakota and my boyfriend just had an ACL reconstruction on the 22nd of July and right now his body is really hot. He doesn t have a fever but his body is on fire. He s been doing his therapy and taking his medicine but his on a lot of pain. Everyday for about a week he has had a headache and his body is burning bad. Could it be the body trying to fight off and heal the knee injury??? Or what could it be and what can I do to help him feel better?

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Fever or high body temperature after ACL surgery suggests infection of the operative site.
Fever after surgery is not indicative of any healing process.
Infection is characterized by high temperature.
I suggest you to consult your surgeon for clinical assessment and to look for evidence of infection.
In case there is infection antibiotics need to be taken to control the infection.

Thanks and take care
