Suggest Treatment For Headache After Undergoing Surgery
My 39-year-old daughter who has NDPH had surgery yesterday and now has so much unrelenting head pain that she is inconsolable. 1. Are there medicines to counteract the remnants of whatever drug/s anesthesiologists used to put her under? 2. Where can we take her to get the best INPATIENT help to get her off of all of her long list of prescribed medications to see how bad her NDPH actually is after having it and taking all kinds of medicines for 9 years? Please help us...I don t know how much longer she can fight this terrible fight!
NDPH in a 39-year-old woman is a very unusual headache diagnosis. We generally don't see NDPH until the '50s and it is usually seen in men although epidemiological data is still not absolutely clear that there is a gender difference. Nevertheless, I would be more concerned that her daily unrelenting headaches were due to polypharmacy issues (excessive medications used for analgesic purposes) and that what she is experiencing is closer to MOH (Medication Overuse Headache).
Inpatient therapy is usually only necessary in people who are on high powered opiates or other controlled substances for analgesic purposes.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
