Suggest Treatment For Head Pain After A Concussion

My 6 year old nephew is screaming about pain in the top of his head. The pain last 8-10 minutes and then he calms down and they start all over again. In July, he fell and hit his head which caused a slight concussion. He has did not have any issues after the concussion until today.

Hi,
Thanks for writing in.

It is important to do a CT scan or MRI scan of the head to know if there is any problem in the hurting area. This is important if the pain is regularly troubling him and if the concussion injury occurred over weeks to months back. Small hematomas or bleeding sites can develop under the scalp and this can take time to heal.

There can also be a case of missed head injury which is causing his symptoms. Please do not ignore his pain and have him examined by a doctor. Doing a scan of the head might be required keeping in mind the sudden sharp pain which is constantly occurring causing him to scream. Please do not worry.
