Suggest Treatment For Hand Tremors In An Elderly Person

When I m holding anything in my hand such as an I-pad book, pencil or trying to hold a pencil my hand begins shaking. My Dr. said it was a positional problem because it doesn t shake when I m holding my hands still. What does this mean. It seems to be getting worse. I am 73 years of age and healthy. any thoughts.

Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Tremors do appear for some in the old age. But if it is causing inconvenience to your routine work, you need to get evaluated.
Since you are not having resting tremors, there might not be any organic lesions associated with your problem.
Kindly consult Neurologist for examination of Sensory nervous system, Motor nervous system and Autonomous nerves system to rule out any organic lesions associated with central nervous system.
In case everything turns out to be normal, you may take multi-vitamin and mineral supplements to keep yourself fit and healthy.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best and wish you good health.
