Suggest Treatment For Hair Loss And Dandruff

Hello,
I am suffering by sever hair loss,
I am having sticky dandruff and itching, roots of hairs are very loose,
Within just 2 months I hav lossed huge hairs...hairlines also gone back...
Doctor advised to use 2% minoxidil and silsia kt shampoo...
I am useing 2% minoxidil since 1 month but still hairs are falling by same rate...
I dont know what happed with me I was having good hairs before 3 months...

Thanks for posting your concern at Healthcaremagic.

Dandruff/seborrheic dermatitis is an important cause of increased hair shedding. In addition to that, Minoxidil solution has an alcoholic base and may cause dryness/scaling of the scalp.

Anyways minoxidil wont help unless you control the dandruff effectively.

If I was your treating doctor I would have asked you to use an antidandruff lotion/shampoo e.g 2% ketoconazole shampoo(salisia-kt shampoo), thrice weekly for 2-4 weeks followed by once or twice weekly for maintenance. It is available OTC.

If that seems insufficient then I would suggest that you see a dermatologist. Your dermatologist might prescribe you a topical steroid lotion, to be applied twice daily for 2 weeks.

The topical steroid lotion can be stopped once the dandruff is significantly controlled and thereafter the improvement can be sustained with just an antidandruff lotion.
