I had a skin biopsy which came back grannuloumous dermititis. I was told this is a sign of an autoimmune disease. I was sent to get a chest x-ray which was normal. I also was to get my eyes examined which was normal and an RPR which was also normal or negative. I have a swollen gland on my neck of which is still present after a 10 day supply of Amoxicillan 2000mg. what next?
Granulomatus dermatitis is a histopathology feature of many conditions for example leprosy, tuberculosis, sarcoidosis, leishmaniasis and sporotrichosis .So it is not a specific diagnosis. You need to be evaluated clinically to determine the cause of the same. Tuberculosis needs to be ruled our if you live in an endemic area.Regards.
