Suggest Treatment For Gout In Ankles

My husband has gout in his ankle and is in quite a bit of pain this morning. I just discovered a 3 horizontal line across the back of his calf. It looks like something that would happen if he had propped it up on a table for a while, but that is not the case. He is on his way to get meds for the gout in a few minutes -- should we be concerned about the line?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms of your husband seem to be related to a gout in ankle. I suggest taking Allopurinol 100 mg twice a day for three months. I also suggest using anti inflammatory medications such as Acetaminophen to relieve the pain. In my opinion, you should not be worried about the lines.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care.

Regards,
