Suggest Treatment For Gastroenteritis

my father is admitted in the hospital from monday and is suffering from Gastroenteritis. Doctors did CT Scan but according to reports they say it will cure by giving medicine 2day is the 6th day but still he is on I.V. they gave him little water yesterday but again his stomach started blotting and they again told us that he has to be still 2 more days on I.V. only no water nothing they r saying antibiotic treatment will cure him. does it takes so many days

He is having Infective Gastroenteritis. Complete 7 days of IV antibiotics. He will still be needing oral antibiotic for the next 5 days. He will be fine.
