I m a 48 yr old female diagnosed with chronic gastritis a yr ago, esomeprezole was prescribed but made it worse, my doc puts it down to anxiety and fibro, my symptoms are palpitations , drop in temperature, shortness of breath, nausea ,exhaustion , dizziness after eating ! I have had these symptoms for a few years and recently have got alot worse, I have severe abdominal pain and discomfort every single day, I also have o.a and scoliosis which all adds to my daily suffering , I am so desperate for help, I don t want to die yet, I also forgot to mention I have c.o.p.d and a hernia in my groin and I m dangerously underweight . What can I do next ? Plz help me :(

Hello,

1. Hernia in groin area: needs a general surgeon opinion, [whether direct or indirect] and also because it is a mechanical issue thus surgical correction is the best option.

2. regarding underweight: It is for your attending general physician to assess whether it is gross weight loss or whether it is small weight loss which needs some good diet and exercise for which routine investigations like Hb%, WBC, ESR & Urine.

3 blood sugar curve.

4. H.I.V. test as routine.

5. X-ray chest for TB/Ca Lung also for complications due to COPD.

6. Thyroid Function Test. [palpitations, anxiety, underweight, exhaustion].

7. Gastroscopy and Ultrasonography for any malignancy.

PS. loss of weight may be the presenting feature of some serious disease, so detailed examination and investigation(s) are needed to arrive at a final diagnosis, therefore presently I suggest not focusing on your symptoms but rather one should find out the root problem from which they are arising.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Munish Sood
