Suggest Treatment For Ganglion Neuroma

My daughter just visited her PCP and he said she has a ganglion neuroma and they are referring her to a hand surgeon. Will they do an X-ray to get an image of it, or will they use CT or MRI? Also, what s the difference between a ganglion neuroma and a ganglion cyst?

Hello,

As she is diagnosed with ganglion neuroma and you want to know will she have to undergo x-ray or CT? Well, I think she might be advised for x-ray followed by MRI.

Also, there is a difference in the ganglion neuroma and ganglion cyst as well. ganglion cyst can occur in tendons of the joints and the ganglion neuroma occurs in the peripheral nerves.

Based on the diagnosis made that whether it is nerve or tendon the treatment will be guided.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
