Suggest Treatment For Fungus In Toenail

I have a toenail fungus which I have been dealing with for the last few years. Yesterday I jammed my big toe and it started to bleed profusely. Now it is a little sore and pus is coming out from under the toenail and it stinks. Should I be concerned?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The discharge and odor are related to the persistent fungal infection.

Treatment of fungal infections of the toe nail requires the use of oral antifungal medication.
It cannot be treated effectively by only using topical medications.

The oral antifungals are used for 12 weeks.

There are different oral agents available eg terbinafine, itraconazole, fluconazole.

I hope this helps
