Suggest Treatment For Frequent Urge To Urinate After An Injury At Back

2 years ago i injured my back and that day i started to feel like i had to go pee all the time and could get no relief after i had an mri i found out that i had a slipped disk pressing on my leg nerve and by then the urge to pee was unbearable the pain killers i was prescribed for my back and leg pain seemed to help the urge but as the pain got worse in my back so did the urge to go and the pain killers didn't work anymore, i had my surgery now and my bladder seemed to get better but then i had a back spasm which my doctor said was probably from injuring my back and since that day my bladder has been unbearable! i was able to go have relief and not need to go for 2 1/2 hours i keep getting medication for my bladder from urologist but they seem to make things worse help im 21 and desperate to get an answer so i can have my life back!

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

* The possible issue here seems to be neurogenic bladder with past trauma to spine.
* In our clinic, I recommend a thorough case evaluation with diagnostic cystoscopy, uroflowmetry with or without CT MRI to confirm the diagnosis and do needful accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
