Suggest Treatment For Frequent Nose Bleeds

Doctor, I am very worried, my 78 year old Mum, takes warfarin and was admitted to hospital two weks ago with a very severe nose bleed, conseqently she had her nose cauterised but, is now experiencing nose bleeds again. She has suffred extreme stress in the last two weeks, as mt dad was also admitted to hospital on the same day, as he is 80 and a diabetic for the last 20 yers, the paramedics have been at their house every morning for a week due to him having hypos, which are now under control. What course of action could you suggest to my mother, and could this recent stress have caused the problem? Thank you.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I think nose bleeding is side effects of Warfarin. She should do some analysis like INR and regulate the dose of Warfarin according the result and take therapy until the level of INR goes in Normal range.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Blerina Pasho, General & Family Physician
