Suggest Treatment For Frequent Cold

Hello, I am Ravi Agarwal, 27/Male, married person living in Bangalore, suffering from permanent cold which I wish to get cured. I always have the problem of running nose and bad cold. Allergic to dust, pollution and change of weather. Many times, because of cold, I end up having lot of headache. It has been for quite sometime now, like past 8-10 years. I used to take some medicine sometimes referred by doctors when the problem is more, but the problem still exists and has never been cured permanently. I have a slight bent in my nose, but I do not want to get any operation done for that or any other reasons too, and this is one reason I have been avoiding Physicians (mainly non-homepathy) doctors. Now the problem has increased a lot and now early morning I feel lot of cough stuck in my throat which also makes difficult to breathe at that time. I feel like vomiting it out to clear my throat. I also feel a lot of tiredness and sometimes stomachache. Please help me resolve my problems. I would also like to know the fees and charges for consultation through Healthcare Magic . Thanks, Ravi

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello Ravi, Thanks for your question. I am Dr Asanghanwa Carlson. Reading through your history, I would say you are suffering from a condition called allergic rhinitis. It is a good thing you have already identified what causes your allergy which is cold, dust, pollution and weather changes. That is already the first step of your treatment. The second step will be to avoid these conditions or things which are at the origin of your allergy, this would be by wearing warm clothing, avoiding dust and using a gas mask in dusty environments. Also you can take anti allergic medications like Loratadine or prednisone tablets. But first of all I would advise you to consult an Ear Nose and Throat Medicine specialist so he examines you and prescribes the right medications as may be needed. Good luck
