Suggest Treatment For Frequent Burping

I have a strange problem. Often when I go to the toilet for a bowel movement, I feel the need to burp. This also happens when I lie down to go to bed, or when I press areas with glands (like when I m washing myself in the shower). I know this sounds bizarre, but is there any explanation? I also occasionally get head pain which sometimes goes away when I release gas (burp). I know this all sounds very weird but any sort of explanation and recommendation of treatment would be much appreciated!

Hello
welcome to health care magic, I share your concern.

Excessive burp might be related to Aerophagia (swallowing of air), Use of carbonated or caffeinated beverages, smoking, indigestion, Acid reflux or acid peptic disease.

In my opinion you should try to find out such an offending factor and try to correct it. However I would advise you to take antiacidity medicines like pantoprazole or ranitidine group of drugs with antacids for 3 to 5 days.

If it's doesn't help than you should consult a gastroenterologist for physical examination and series of investigation like ultrasound abdomen, liver function test, thyroid function test, blood sugar and an endoscopy if need be.

Have lots of fresh fruits and vegetables
Avoid junk and spicy food or carbonated drinks.
exercise regularly and try to maintain ideal body weight if you are obese or overweight.

Hope I could answer your question.
wishing you good health.
