Suggest Treatment For Foul Smell From The Nose

hello, recently my nose or naseaul area smell really bad It smells like a nasty fart and every time i exhale or inhale i can smell it, it makes me want to puke. This is something new to me i havent had it before..Just a couple of days ago my siblings all had a little cold and my nose was stuffy, but it did not start smelling until like 2 days ago...I dont know i its coming from my nose or throat exactly.

Hi. It seems like you have an infection of your sinuses that is probably fungal in nature and that is possibly the reason for your foul smelling nasal cavity.

It is likely that you may have picked up a cold from your siblings and may have already had some allergy or fungal secretions that would have exacerbated over the last two days.

In my opinion you need an ENT consultation to confirm fungal sinusitis or allergic fungal rhinosinusitis (AFRS) by undergoing a nasal endoscopy and histopathological testing of your nasal secretions. In addition to a course of antifungal or an antibiotic medications (in case it is bacterial) you will need some antihistamines, nasal decongestants and saline nasal sprays for 5 days to clear out the infection. You may also need a CT scan of the Paranasal Sinuses (PNS) to evaluate the remaining sinuses.

This seems like it is a temporary problem and should recover within a week of evaluation and management.
