Suggest Treatment For Flatulence

Hello ,
I have no control all over the time over gases (I don't feel it ). I did an MRI on lumbar spin and was normal. Meanwhile I have no IBS . I'm 26 years old and this started 13 years ago and improved greatly after 8 years and then returned nowadays .
I'm physically active and ended my treatment for depression 1 year ago . I had depression since I was 11 years old .
I'm also a single man .
Thanks

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history about an unmarried 26 year old male and understood your concerns.
Problems of gases with normal lumbar spine MRI and completed treatment for depression can be due to the following:
Aerophagia and/or aerated liquids in excess.
Imbalance of bacterial flora of intestines wherein the colony of gas producing bacteria is increased.
This can be diagnosed by the following:
Get the stool tests done for three consecutive days as this is an old and long lasting problem.
A course of an antibiotic active against intestinal infection, metronidazole and probiotics should help in cure as well as be diagnostic.
Take activated charcoal tablets and use pancreatic enzyme supplements with food.
Reconsider a proper treatment of depression, anxiety or stress to ass on the effects positively.
Also get the CT scan of abdomen, colonoscopy, tests of blood to rule out any medical problems, clinical evaluation by a Doctor and get a specific treatment if anything is found like gall stones or so.
If all these investigations are normal, this is obviously an IBS and get treated accordingly and take help of a Psychiatrist too.
