Suggest Treatment For Flatulence

Problem with Flatulence when I eat out or have professional catering. As these are mainly work functions it is a little embarrassing. What can I do (except not eat). What could be the problem, as I am not allergic to any specific food (as far as I am aware of)? Could it be a symptom of an illness?
