Hello, I am concerned that I may have viral hepatitis. I was put at risk in May 2010, and had screening for all STI s after 1 month, conveying negative results. Primarily I was focused on HIV and only retested for that on 2 further occasions, both of which were negative. Strange and very different things have happened to my health up until now. Initially I had low-grade fever, swollen lumps below jaw and armpit, sudden fatigue, rash on upper arms, a few pinprick sized red dots on skin that remain today, weird red scratch-like marks under my skin that didn t itch and disappeared after a few days, a tingly head for 1 week, hand numbness that dissipated. My bowel movements changed, and I was urinating a lot more. I ve twice had a very sharp pain in my lower-left back around July, but nothing since, nor any jaundice-like symptoms. All previously mentioned symptoms have not reoccurred. For the past 3 months I have been passing terrible gas and feel bloated on occasions, and although I don t feel constipated, I don t feel the need to go to the toilet more than 3 times a week. I ve been like this for as long as I can remember though. I have started to notice White bits in my stool, and they seem harder than before, and perhaps a little darker. They also almost always float. I ve been getting suddenly tired after big meals, much more so than usual. My skin has gotten drier and looks a little more pale than usual, and I m convinced that my feet, hands and forearms have got thinner. I signed with a new doctor about 1 month ago and had to submit a urine sample. I ve not heard anything back and am scared to contact then in case they confirm my fears. Surely they d call if there was a problem. Or what if they didn t test it quick enough? I don t want to start accusing health professionals of not doing their job. This is making me incredibly anxious and frightened. I want to believe that the test was accurate otherwise I m sure I ll keep retesting. Does this all sound bad? Please can you advise me on what to do?
