Suggest Treatment For Flaky And Dry Skin In A Newborn Baby

hi doctor M SHILPA,first time mother of 1.5 month old baby boy...my son is getting so many pimple like stuffs and also baby s scalp has flaky, dry skin that looks like dandruff...that could be cradle cap too...if m not wrong...i consulted a doctor that recommended betnovate c cream to apply thrice a day on effected area of face and body....i followed him and found that yes there was some relief in acne but i noticed some white spots on cheeks and chin area...what should i do?????does betnovate c cream should not be used on newborns under 1 year of age??????plz help asap

The symptom you described suggest seborrhic dermatitis. It's common but benign condition in newborn. It generally resolves its own in some weeks to few months. generally between 6 to 12 months. Continue exclusive breast feeding and routine vaccination for the child.
