Hi my bro in hospital he has to be nbm due to a fistula in his voice box, he has a ng tube for feed br the nurse are not putting a saline iv drip on everyday? Question is does he have to have one everday or jus when they feel like it for example when he has lbp

don't get worried about IV fluids .
if there is NG tube intact
and he is taking feeds through that there is no need for ivf until unless there is electrolyte imbalance or low bp.
better to take feeds through NG.
most of fistula will close spontaneously after some days or he may need surgery to close it rarely . until then continue NG tube feeds
