Suggest Treatment For Fever In A Child

My son swallowed a quarter on Wednesday. xrays were done an hour after and determined it was already in his tummy and going through the process. He had a large poo on friday and another one on sunday. When Looking through his poo we did not find the quarter. But it wouldn t surprise me if we missed it. Yesterday he started to have a fever. tylanol DOES take care of the fever and then it comes back after 4 hours. He is acting completely normal other then the time between the fever coming on and going away. In which he becomes a normal kid with a fever. Should I wait until tomorrow to see if it could be the flu before I contact the doctor.

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hello,

The fever in your child's case is not related to the swallowing of the coin. The coin is in the stomach and will come out through his stools.
As he is otherwise doing well, I advice you can wait for a day or two to see if other symptoms develop.

Hope that helps.

Regards,

Preeti
