Hi, I am pregnant, 29 weeks.. I visited my ob because of having a fever and cough.. She advised to take ambroxol hydrochloride 30mg 1tab 3times a day, I am so worried with my baby, but still I started taking the med,. Is it really safe for me and my baby?

Ambroxol hydrochloride is mucolytic drug that in used for thinning of mucous collected in throat. It is category c drug of pregnancy safe index & category b in third trimester, which means safe in third trimester of pregnancy.

so you should take the drug as prescribed
