Suggest Treatment For Fever And Cough

Hi! My son is 13 and for the past few nights he has gotten a fever of around 101...then by morning it is back to normal. He rarely gets a fever at all, so not sure what is going on. He does have a cough now and says his chest feels gurgly. But he s been fine each morning so I haven t taken him to the dr yet (also it s the weekend). Should I worry about pneumonia?

Hello
As you mentioned that your son is having fever and cough ( more in the night ). In the morning he become alright ( is means he is not having pneumonia , so need not to worry ).
Such type of fever with cough with gurgly sound may be due to allergic bronchitis or rhinitis .
May be due to common cold or flu .
When such patient visit to my clinic I advise my patient to take levofloxacin 10 mg / kg body weight , once in a day .
Also to take salbutamol + ambroxol + chlorampheniramine syrup .
So this is a prescription medicine , so consult a doctor and get his opinion.
Hot coffee also provide relief.
Good luck.
