Suggest Treatment For Fever And Cough In Child

Hello Doc, my 2 yr old daughter has an on and off fever and cough for more than one month now. A month ago she had a negative TB skin test. I'm afraid that her situation may turn to primary complex or other illness. Need your suggestion regarding this. thanks - Alen

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
From history it seems that she might be having chronic respiratory tract infection.
As Mountex test is negative risk of having primary complex is less likely.
But to rule out primary complex go for,
1, x-ray chest,
2, complete blood test like TC, DC, ESR which will give conclusion regarding bacterial infection as well.
3, history of weight loss.
After all report your pediatrician will go for plan of treatment accordingly.
Ok and take care.
