Suggest Treatment For Febrile Seizure

I have a 2 year old daughter that had a febrile seizure on 8-17-11 and since then has had muscle tightening spazms in her face and many many episodes during the day. Did an EEG and it didn t come back all the way normal but not totally abnormal either. How concerned should I be with this involentary spasms?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi... By what you quote this appear to be a case of atypical febrile seizures. In atypical febrile seizure, seizures can occur multiple times in 24 hrs, takes longer to subside, EEG picture may be normal. I think you should hospitalize the baby, a CSF examination and MRI brain should be done and child should be kept in observation for some days. Wishing your child good health. Take care.
