Whippče is extensive and complex surgery with clear negative efect on digestion so certain degree of abdominal discomfort is expected. it looks to me like malnutrition syndrome which has all these symptoms and this occurs in about 30 percent of patients who undergo whipples procedure. usually this is transient, and rarely persistent or lifelong. However, tumor recurence should be ruled out first. Some individuals may benefit from diet modification, such as a reduced fat diet, following cholecystectomy since it may be more difficult for digestion of fatty foods. Typically, the patient is recommended dietary restriction table with fatty foods, enzyme preparations, antispasmodics and Kreon pills.
