Suggest Treatment For Fatigue, Fever, Excessive Sweating And Intermittent Headaches

I have had fatigue, moderate g.i upset, fever with short periods of excessive sweating and intermittent mild headache for 4 days. Nausea but no vomiting. I have been resting when possible. I assume I should just ride this out, but thought I should check in with the doctor. :-). Thank you. Tamara Finley

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Based on the history you have shared, it seems to be an acute attack of gastroenteritis. The weakness and fatigue can be due to electrolytes or water loss.

It's better to get oral rehydration salts and keep good hydration. For nausea, dimenhydrinate can be helpful.

Meanwhile, soft diet and probiotics may be needed. If issue persists, antibiotics like ciprofloxacin may be needed alongwith anti-inflammatory drugs like acetaminophen or Ibuprofen.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
