Suggest Treatment For Fatigue, Fever And Body Aches

Have had a fever ranging from 99.7-101.4 since Monday. Started with a scratchy throat (Sunday), now a productive cough but no sinus congestion. No body aches, minor fatigue. Was hoping fever would burn-out the bug. Is this just a case of bronchitis, is a fever x 3.5 days something I should see my doctor about. Havent had a cold/flu in over a decade!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It could be upper respiratory tract infection. For a productive cough, you can be prescribed cough expectoration syrup containing Ambroxol.

Take one tsp turmeric powder with milk daily. It's advisable to take the antibiotic course as well for five days. If no improvement than chest X-ray done for further work up.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Parth Goswami, General & Family Physician
