Suggest Treatment For Eye Infection In A Child

My child is 8yr old. First I joined her in swimming and after few days she got eye infection and after that she is suffering with high temperature from 6days and temperature is not coming down. We went to pediatrician and they advised blood test, urine test. And there is urine infection. And doctor suggested antibiotic and half calpol tablet. Simultaneously we checked with optamologist and using medicines too for eye infection. I m not understanding why the fever is not coming down and what treatment I have to giveto bring her normal stage? Please suggest me a right way?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

As long as the fever is concerned and if this is due to urinary tract infection, then it requires proper sensitive antibiotics. If the antibiotic is resistant to specific organism, then there will be no body response to antibiotic. Fever will be persistent.

This is the common reason seen in case of UTI and to come over this problem, it is most advisable to get done the urine culture sensitivity test. This test not just show the sensitive organism for particular antibiotic but also rules out the possibility of urinary tract infection. If its not a bacterial infection, it can be a viral infection.

Hope I have answered your query.
