Suggest Treatment For Extreme Back Pain Between The Shoulder Blades

It is more an observation than a question. 26 years ago my LAD was totally occluded proximally. I did not have any of the typical heart attack symptoms, only extreme back pain between my shoulder blades, and delayed going to the ER for quite a while. Post angioplasty, my lvef was 0.15. The cardiologist told my wife that he expected me to succumb within the next 2 to 3 days. After a few weeks my lvef was over was 0.20 to 0.25. It is now between 0.30 and 0.35. Needless to say, I have outlived the cardiologist. I have had excellent cardiac care. I flew to Kansas City last month to play with my third great-grandchild.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As you already have a history of heart attack.

We have to rule out cardiac causes like angina first. However, the symptoms are more likely suggestive of muscular pain.

Consult a physician and plan for an ECG to rule out cardiac causes like myocardial infarction.

As of now, you can take drugs like tramadol for pain relief.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
