Suggest Treatment For Explosive Diarrhea In An Infant

Hi, we have a 8.5 mth old girl who eats and sleeps well. Three weeks ago her stool was just starting to form. It changed and has ever since been explosive running stolols. Stool sample show NO signs of bacteria, parasites or any abnormalities. I don t understand what causes this. Do you have any advice?

Hi,

I understand your concern.

Explosive stool in an 8.5 months old baby is due to foods/drinks introduced to her as long as no abnormality and no infection was found in her stool.

Try to introduce food gradually, give time up to 3 or 5 days to see her bowel movements before introducing new food to her.

Her GI tract is still imature and needs time to fully digest.

Hope this helps.
