General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Based on your medical history this is a case of Hyperhidrosis. It is defined as excessive and uncontrollable sweating without a clear cause that can be occupationally and socially disabling.

Causes differ if it happens during night or day. Common causes include infections(night sweats from TB), malignancies (e.g. Hodgkin’s disease), metabolicdiseases and disorders (thyrotoxicosis, diabetes, hypoglycemia), meno-pause, and medications (e.g. Tricyclic anti-depressants, propranolol, venlafaxine).

I suggest you go examine your medication list carefully with your GP and omit or change drugs that can affect the sympathetic nervous system. Botox only is effective if a clear cause is identified.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Ahmad Nazzal
