Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Suggest Treatment For Excessive Sweating And Fatigue While Having Low Potassium Levels
I am sweating excessively and feel exhausted. I recently had very low potassium levels and was taken off. Diuretics. I am sometimes lighted. Could my potassium be low again? Could it be something else. I a showing a weight loss of 1/2 to 1 lb a day for last week.
Thank you for your query. Is your excessive sweating limited to a specific part of the body like underarms, hands or feet , for instance? or is generalised?( whole body sweating). Were you on diuretics for hypertension or heart failure or for anything else? Do you have a history of diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, thyroid disease? I would recommend you see a physician right away to rule out series causes like hyperthyroidism, heart failure. Unintended weight loss, that too at the rate you mentioned along with light headed was and generalised swelling need to be checked out immediately. hope I have helped. wish you good health
