Suggest Treatment For Esophagus Pain

I burned my esophagus 13 days ago while drinking hot chocolate. The pain is still severe when eating anything other than liquids. I also have severe pain through to my backbone when it feels like the esophageal muscle contracts/spasms. I m considering going to the gastro doc this week. How long does the pain usually last? I just started today taking Mylanta and Pepcid. My esophagus feels swollen. I have no fever. The pain is worse in the past week than it was the first few days after it happened. It feels like a scanned wound compared to a fresh wound. Thank you.

Hello,
I would suggest omeprazole prilosec which is available as an over the counter medication in case your current medications do not cause any relief in symptoms. With this symptoms should improve by the end of a week
