my mother is a 51 years old woman , she is suffering from an enlagment in her thyroid gland . she has no other symptoms . she made thyroid hormones tests and they are all normal. She made a thyroid US scan and this is the result:both thyroid lobes are enlarged and hupoechoic, showing multiple bilateral isoechoic nodules of 1x1.5 cm.the isthmus is thickened at 5.6 mm.no significant lymph nodal enlargement.no retrosternal extension.no cervical lymphadenopathy..She also made a FNA of thyroid and that was the result: benign polefrative thyroid . until now we don't know what's wrong with her .Is it hypo or hyper thyroidism or what? please answer me as soon as possible
