Suggest Treatment For Endometriosis

I am a 33 year old female. I was diagnosed with endometriosis @ the age of 17 and have horrible menstrual cycles. I am bed ridden the first 3 days regardless! I have had 2 C-Sections, & just 2 years ago had a tubal pregnancy in which they removed my left fallopian tube! 3 weeks ago, I had, yet another, laparoscopy, & my dr. is recommending that I have a full on hysterectomy! He said I had lots of scars & lesions, & that the endometriosis was wrapped everywhere....that my ovaries were (somehow) attached to my bowels. That scares me!!! I stay in pain, whether I m menstruating or not! I hurt almost *constantly*. For some reason he acts like he can not write me anything that is a narcotic, but, IBP are NOT getting the job done! Lol, remember I also have a 7 & 9 year old to keep up with! What do I do? Should I be in so much pain in my lower back, and lower abdomen? Idk if I should maybe try finding another Dr. that WILL treat me for my pain, or go on & let them do the hysterectomy! Which, I m really NOT ready for right now. My family & I were hoping to be blessed with just, ONE MORE Lil-Angel !!! What would be the right medicine suitable to ease my pain, in the mean time? THANKS!!!!

Hi. I find really interesting your case. In fact endometriosis is not a rare condition. Endometriosis is the implantation of the inner lay of uterus outside the uterus. I would like to know the locations of your endometriosis because there may be ovarian cysts or there may be small implantations in other parts of the body. In the case of the ovarian cyst, i would suggest the removal of the cyst and in the cases of small implantations I would recommend laparoscopy for burning them. I do not think that hysterectomy can be the solution in your case as you are very young and you have not fulfilled your family yet. You may have other children and that is your right. Another positive part of getting pregnant is that you will calm down from the aches because there will not be menstruation and these small implantation stay "calm" if there is no menstruation. If you were my patient, I would recommend you taking analgesics 2 days before menstruations and a laparoscopy to eradicate all the implantations around the uterus. Hope my advices help.
