Suggest Treatment For Elevated Bilirubin Levels

Hello Doctor. Happy new year. I recently found the bilirubin content is high 1.7 and direct at 0.52. Recently I tried a product called Extenze which is a male enhancer since I was finding some weakness in my sex feelings. Also I used to masturbate excess since past 10+ years. Is it ok on my liver part and will I get back to normal. I used to take lot of alcohol recently and stopped now.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
The reason for elevated bilirubin levels is primarily because of toxic damage to liver induced by excess alcohol intake. Since you are stating that you have stopped it now, it might take certain time to be back to normal. Since the early signs of damage to liver by alcohol has already began, it would be better that you quit it completely.
However, to know what could be the extent of liver damage and its functional status, kindly get an ultrasound abdomen done and consult Physician with the report for proper evaluation and management.
You need not worry about your sexual performance as it would be back to normal soon and masturbation what you used to do earlier would not affect sexual performance or fertility.
Hence, do not be much worried about it, but make sure you take care of your liver.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
