Suggest Treatment For Elbow Pain

Hy! Sorry i m no native english speaker! I play inline hockey once a week. the day after training my elbow hurts like hell. i barley can take on my clothes or put the phone to my ear.. after a couple of days (4-5) the paon is gone.... i dont fell any pain during the training, only the day after... Should i get this checked or take a break?

I understand your concern. Maybe you have tennis elbow, the condition is known as lateral epicondylitis and generally occurs due to excessive use of the elbow. This will cause the elbow muscles to experience excessive tension resulting in tears and inflammation.

The type of pain that generally signifies this condition as pain that arises:
1. On the outer side of the middle arm (precisely under the elbow) which sometimes spreads up to the wrist.
2. When lifting something.
3. When bending the hand.
4. When shaking hands, writing, or grasping a small object, like a pencil.
5. When doing a circular motion, for example when turning the doorknob or open the lid of the jar.
6. When straightening hands.

If this condition is very painful, I suggest you to meet an Orthopedic. The condition of tennis elbow can generally be detected by asking for symptoms, medical history, and physical examination of the patient. The patient's elbow condition will be carefully evaluated through a series of movements.
If a physical condition check is not enough or suspects other causes, the doctor may recommend some more detailed examinations to confirm the diagnosis. For example through X-ray procedure, CT scan, and MRI scan.

Some tips for you:
1. Avoid activities that will burden the elbow muscles. Especially the activities that trigger tennis elbow, such as lifting weights and sports that use hands that suffer excessively.
2. Take painkillers (analgesics), such as acetaminophen or ibuprofen.
3. Reduces pressure on the elbow muscles by wrapping them with a special retaining cloth that can be bought freely at sporting goods stores.
