Suggest treatment for ear pain with small lump under the ear
My 10 year old daughter has had an earache for about the last 12 hours. She isn't running fever but is in quite a bit of pain in her ear. I noticed a small lump under her ear around the back of her jaw. I was going to use Similisan ear relief but was wondering if this would work?
Understanding your concern. As per your query your daughter have symptoms of ear pain with small lump under the ear which is mainly due to infection of the ear lobe or due to parotid gland swelling. It could be mastoiditis and tooth infection in posterior quadrant.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you to do gargles with listerine antiseptic mouth wash. Take proper combination of antibiotics such as Azithromycin 500 mg along with antihistamine medications. Apply Voltaren gel locally. Apply hot fomentation on affected area. Symptoms will resolve in one week. If symptoms keeps on persisting visit ENT specialist once and get it examined. Once a proper diagnosis have been made, start treatment accordingly.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
