Suggest Treatment For Ear Infection

Hello. I have an ear infection that has been very painful for about a week. I feel that the nerves are inflamed. I can feel the pain in my teeth and down my neck. The Steroids (Prednisone) has helped somewhat but it still has a very painful feel to it. I am also on Omnicef for the infection. I am using a heating pad but I really need this to be gone. Help me please.

Hi...
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns...

As per your complain as you are suffering from ear infection and taking steroids and antibiotics for it which are right medications for reducing infection and inflammation but these medcations can take a comparitively longer time to relieve the pain as the infection will resolve gradually..
You should continue taking these medications but along with it you should take painkillers like Ibuprofen, Naproxen or Diclofenac potassium for moderate pain and if it is severe pain you can take Tramadol..
Continue doing warm compresses and do not try to pop your ear as it can further cause pain..
You can also use decongestant nasal drops to relieve any congestion in ear if present as it can also add up to pain..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
