I have had an ear ache for 2 months now. very painful at times. I am currently taking leftover AVELOX 400MG, 1 daily for 3 days so far. I was told there is fluid in that ear. should i take OTC decongestants or antihistamine too? I 280 LBS, MALE, 5 FT 10.
I have gone through your query and can understand..
As per your complain earache and fluid behind the ear can be due to ear infection and as you are taking Avelox [Moxifloxacin] for it, it is a correct medicine as it is an antibiotic.. You can also take decongestants like Phyenylephrine in the form of nasal drops and oral tablets.. Anti-histamines are taken in allergy and if there is no allergy it is not required.. You should also take antibiotic ear drops like Genatmycin.. Drainage of fluid can be established by the ENT physician as well as he can advise Grommets [artificial ea tubes] to be placed to relieve pressure and ease drainage in case if the condition becomes chronic and persist for long..
Hope this information helps..
