Suggest Treatment For Ear Ache

Hi, I ve recently had the flu for about 2 or 3 days now, and I think I may still have it. My fever has decreased and I m not quite as sore overall, but now my right ear is in severe pain - to the point where I am unable to sleep. I have been laying on my side on and off for about 24 hours now, and this is the first time in my life I have had ear pain (seeing as I am only 17 years old). Is there any medicine or any advice you could give me at 3:50 a.m. to relieve this pain?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

The symptoms of ear pain seem to be related to the flu.
I suggest using anti inflammatory medications such as Ibuprofen to relieve the ear pain.
I also suggest using ear drops for local treatment.

Hope my answer was helpful.

If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.

Kind regards!
