Suggest Treatment For Dryness And Pain In Nose

my ent says my turbinates are very large. I have chronic sinus problem with (pndrip) constantly. It usually rather tenacious. I have been on nasonex, but I do not use it regularly. I think it helps for some sx s but not other. I take an herb product which helps with the sneezing episodes composed of spanish needles and cinnamon. I prefer it over common allergy products such as benadryl. recently, I ordered a sinus product called sinuswars ( homeopathic remedy). I ve used it for about one week so far. This crusted, sore nose condition past 2 days is not comfortable. I usually can t get an app t with my ent for at least 2 weeks (busy. thank you.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Noted your history of dryness and pain in nose with crust formation, using many a things including Nasonex, herb products, homeopathy etc and your ENT has said about hypertrophied turbinates,, postnasal drip and tenacious fluid.
You have explained so well that the problem lies in the nose and thus a sinusitis.
NEED THE FOLLOWING:
CT scan of nose and sinuses.
Nasal swab for gram staining, tuberculosis, culture and sensitivity.
X-ray of chest.
Tests of blood.
All these will give you the best possible diagnosis so that a specific treatment either medical or surgical or both can be given.
Till then use the medications as advise.
Take plain water steam inhalation.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, ENT & General Surgeon
